Description

Red Velvet Cheesecake Trifle is the ultimate dessert, combining the soft texture of red velvet cake with a creamy cheesecake filling and fluffy whipped cream. Each layer creates a visually stunning and delicious treat. Perfect for any celebration, this dessert can be easily customized and made ahead of time, making it both impressive and practical.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box red velvet cake mix (or homemade red velvet cake)

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (optional)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  • Fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries)

  • Chocolate shavings or crumbled cake (optional)

Instructions

  • Bake the cake: Prepare the red velvet cake mix according to package instructions or bake from scratch. Allow it to cool, then cut into cubes.

  • Make the cheesecake filling: Beat cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.

  • Whip the cream: Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar and vanilla if desired.

  • Assemble the trifle: In a large glass dish, layer the cake cubes, followed by the cheesecake filling, and then the whipped cream. Repeat until you run out of layers, finishing with whipped cream.

  • Add toppings: Garnish with fresh berries, chocolate shavings, or crumbled cake.

  • Chill: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the layers to set.

Notes

Make this ahead by preparing the cake and cheesecake filling a day before serving.

Use store-bought cake if you’re short on time.

For a dairy-free version, substitute cream cheese and whipped cream with dairy-free alternatives.
