- 3 black tea bags
- 4 cups boiling water
- 3 large ripe peaches, chopped
- 2 cups water
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- Ice for serving
- Fresh peach slices for garnish
Instructions
- Bring 4 cups of water to a light simmer and steep the tea bags for 5 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags and chill the black tea in the refrigerator.
- Blend chopped peaches, 1 cup water, and sugar for a few seconds.
- Pour the peach mixture into a saucepan and add the remaining water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the peach mixture steep for 30 minutes.
- Strain the peach syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher.
- Chill the peach syrup until cold.
- Combine the chilled black tea and peach syrup in a large pitcher.
- Add ice, garnish with peach slices, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Store the peach iced tea in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- The flavor becomes even better after chilling overnight.
- Add simple syrup if you prefer sweeter tea.
