Description

Fudgy Red Velvet Brownies are a decadent twist on the classic brownie, combining the rich, chocolatey texture of brownies with the vibrant red color and subtle tang of red velvet. They’re perfect for Valentine’s Day, holidays, or any time you want a striking, indulgent dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring (liquid or gel)

  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar

  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • Optional: ½ cup white chocolate chips or cream cheese swirl

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it lightly.

  • Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla, red food coloring, and vinegar.

  • Add dry ingredients: Sift in the cocoa powder, then add the flour and salt. Stir until just combined—do not overmix.

  • Pour into pan: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. (Add white chocolate chips or swirl in cream cheese mixture if using.)

  • Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  • Cool and serve: Let brownies cool completely before cutting into squares for the fudgiest tex

Notes

  • For a tangy twist, swirl in a mixture of 4 oz cream cheese, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 1 egg yolk before baking.

  • Do not overbake—this keeps them extra fudgy.

  • Use gel food coloring for a more vibrant red with less liquid.
