Description
Authentic Pico de Gallo is a fresh Mexican salsa made with tomatoes, onion, cilantro, lime juice, and chili pepper. It comes together in 15 minutes and works well as a dip for chips or a topping for tacos, fajitas, and more.

- 4 Roma tomatoes, deseeded and diced
- 2/3 cup white onion, finely diced
- 1 bunch cilantro, finely chopped
- 1 serrano pepper or jalapeño, finely chopped
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Wash and prep all ingredients.
- Dice the Roma tomatoes and remove most of the seeds.
- Finely dice the white onion.
- Finely chop the cilantro.
- Finely chop the serrano pepper or jalapeño.
- Add the tomatoes, onion, cilantro, pepper, lime juice, and salt to a bowl.
- Stir everything together until evenly combined.
- Let the pico de gallo rest for 15 minutes if desired so the flavors meld.
- Serve with tortilla chips or spoon over tacos, fajitas, and other dishes.
Notes
- Make it a few hours ahead for a stronger flavor.
- Stir the salsa a few times before serving if it sits.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- The salsa will soften and release more liquid as it sits.
