- 3 pounds cooked chicken breasts, shredded
- 1/2 cup salsa
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 cup fiesta blend cheese or Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 16 burrito sized flour tortillas
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and prepare a rimmed baking sheet.
- Combine shredded chicken, salsa, cream cheese, shredded cheese, cumin, salt, and pepper in a microwave safe bowl.
- Microwave the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes until cheese melts and the chicken mixture heats through.
- Stir the mixture until creamy and well combined.
- Place about 3 tablespoons of filling on the bottom third of each tortilla.
- Roll tortillas tightly and cut each roll in half.
- Place flautas seam side down on the baking sheet.
- Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until tortillas turn crispy and golden.
- For party presentation, arrange flautas in a ring and sprinkle shredded cheese between layers.
- Bake an additional 5 minutes until the cheese melts.
Notes
- Do not overfill tortillas to keep them tightly rolled.
- Spraying cooking spray helps the tortillas crisp properly.
- Rotisserie chicken can replace cooked chicken breasts for faster preparation.
