Description

Tender baked pears filled with a walnut oat crumble and warm cinnamon flavor. Perfect as a cozy dessert or breakfast served with yogurt.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium-large pears
  • 1/2 cup golden brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 56 tablespoons water
  • Vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)
  • Sweetened Greek yogurt for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Mix brown sugar, walnuts, oats, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add butter and combine until crumbly.
  4. Cut pears in half and scoop out seeds.
  5. Add water to baking dish.
  6. Place pears cut-side up in dish.
  7. Fill pear centers with crumble mixture.
  8. Bake 35 to 45 minutes until tender.
  9. Cool slightly before serving.
  10. Spoon pan juices over pears and serve.

Notes

  1. Use Bartlett pears for best results.
  2. Replace walnuts with pecans or almonds if desired.
  3. For a nut-free version, use extra oats.
  4. Serve with vanilla ice cream or sweetened Greek yogurt.
  5. Store leftovers in refrigerator up to 3 days.
