Description

Warm Baked Pears with cinnamon honey make a simple fruit dessert or snack. Ripe pears bake until tender, glossy, and naturally sweet.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium ripe pears
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil or butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Peel the pears with a vegetable peeler. Trim the ends, then cut each pear in half from stem to bottom.
  3. Use a small spoon or melon baller to gently scoop out the core from each pear half.
  4. Place the pears cut side down in the prepared baking dish or on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Add the honey, coconut oil or butter, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to a small microwave-safe bowl.
  6. Microwave the sauce for 30 seconds, then stir until smooth and well combined.
  7. Spoon half to three-quarters of the cinnamon honey sauce over the pears.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the pears turn soft, fragrant, and lightly browned.
  9. Remove the pears from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Spoon the remaining sauce over each pear before serving.

Notes

  1. Use ripe but firm pears for the best texture.
  2. Butter gives the sauce a richer flavor, while coconut oil keeps the recipe dairy-free.
  3. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, Greek yogurt, whipped cream, or chopped nuts.
  4. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
