Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken:
- 2 large chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- Vegetable oil, for frying
For the Bang Bang Sauce:
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp lime juice
For the Sliders:
- 12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls work great!)
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- ½ cup thinly sliced red cabbage (optional, for crunch)
- ½ cup pickle slices
- ½ cup shredded carrots (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken:
- In a bowl, soak the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for extra tenderness).
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, dip it into the beaten egg, then coat it in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
- Fry in batches until golden brown and crispy (about 3-4 minutes per side). Drain on a paper towel.
2. Make the Bang Bang Sauce:
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth.
3. Assemble the Sliders:
- Slice the slider buns in half and toast them lightly (optional).
- Spread a thin layer of Bang Bang sauce on the bottom bun.
- Add a layer of lettuce, cabbage, and pickles.
- Place two crispy chicken pieces on each bun.
- Drizzle extra Bang Bang sauce over the chicken.
- Top with shredded carrots (if using) and place the top bun.
4. Serve & Enjoy:
- Secure with toothpicks and serve immediately with extra sauce on the side!
Notes
- Baked Option: Instead of frying, bake the coated chicken at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Air Fryer Version: Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes, shaking halfway.
- Make It Spicier: Add extra sriracha or a dash of cayenne to the Bang Bang sauce.
- Serving Idea: Pair with coleslaw or crispy fries for a complete meal!
