Description

Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry with tender beef, crisp broccoli, and savory sauce made fast in one pan.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 ounces flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 3.5 ounces broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate the sliced beef with marinade ingredients and rest for 15 minutes
  2. Blanch broccoli until bright green and drain
  3. Whisk sauce ingredients until smooth
  4. Stir-fry beef until just cooked and remove
  5. Cook garlic and ginger briefly
  6. Return beef and broccoli, add sauce, and cook until thickened

Notes

  1. Slice beef against the grain for tenderness
  2. Oyster sauce can replace soy sauce
  3. Serve with rice or noodles
