Description

This **breakfast casserole with biscuits** is the ultimate comfort food for brunch or family gatherings. With flaky biscuits, savory sausage, gooey cheese, and creamy eggs, it’s easy to prepare and even easier to enjoy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (preferably buttermilk biscuits)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
  • 1/2 cup diced onion (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional add-ins: bell peppers, mushrooms, hash browns

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat, crumbling as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer the biscuit dough at the bottom.
  4. Top with the cooked sausage and any veggies you’re adding, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  5. Whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Pour evenly over the sausage and biscuit layers.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for another 15-20 minutes until golden and set.
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  1. You can prepare this casserole the night before by assembling it and refrigerating overnight. Just bake it the next morning.
  2. Feel free to customize with different veggies or cheese based on your preferences.
