Description

Creamy brie, sweet fig jam, and crisp apple slices on toasted baguette make this irresistible fall crostini appetizer. Perfect for holidays, parties, or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
    • 1 baguette, sliced thin

    • Olive oil for brushing

    • 6 oz brie cheese

    • 2 crisp apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)

    • ½ cup fig jam

    • 1 tsp salt + 2 cups water (for apple soak)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Slice baguette into ½-inch slices and brush lightly with olive oil.
  • Toast 5–6 minutes until golden brown and crisp at the edges.
  • Slice apples thinly and soak in saltwater (1 tsp salt per 2 cups water) for 10 minutes, then rinse.
  • Spread fig jam on each crostini.
  • Add a slice of brie cheese and top with an apple slice.
  • Serve immediately or within 30 minutes for best flavor and texture.

Notes

You can prepare the toasted baguette bases ahead of time and store in an airtight container.

Apples stay fresh for hours using the saltwater soak method.

For added flavor, top with thyme or crushed walnuts.

Pair beautifully with sparkling wine or crisp cider.
