- 3–4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to season chicken
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl mix brown sugar, water, garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and ground black pepper.
- Place chicken in the baking dish and pour the sauce evenly over the top.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F internal temperature.
- Remove from oven and spoon the sauce from the dish over the chicken before serving.
Notes
- Use chicken breasts of similar size so they cook evenly.
- Serve the extra sauce over rice or pasta for additional flavor.
