Description

California Baked Apples made with honey and cinnamon create a warm, healthy apple dessert that is easy and comforting.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium apples
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Wash the apples, cut them in half, and remove the cores.
  3. Place the apples cut-side up in a baking dish.
  4. Brush the apples evenly with melted coconut oil.
  5. Drizzle honey over each apple half.
  6. Sprinkle evenly with ground cinnamon.
  7. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until tender and lightly caramelized.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  1. Serve warm on their own or with yogurt, vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream.
  2. Optional additions include chopped nuts or raisins.
