Description

Candy Grapes are juicy seedless grapes coated in colorful flavored gelatin powder and frozen until crisp. This simple no-bake snack makes a fun summer treat for kids, parties, and hot afternoons.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds seedless green, red, or black grapes
  • 3 to 6 boxes flavored gelatin powder, 3 ounces each
  • 1 small bowl cold water
  • Toothpicks, for dipping
  • Parchment paper, for the baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Remove the grapes from their stems. Discard any soft, split, or damaged grapes.
  2. Wash the grapes thoroughly under cool water and drain them in a colander.
  3. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Pour each gelatin flavor into a separate small bowl. Fill another small bowl with cold water.
  5. Insert a toothpick into the stem end of one grape.
  6. Dip the grape briefly into the cold water and let the excess drip away.
  7. Roll the damp grape in the gelatin powder until every side is coated.
  8. Gently tap off loose powder and place the coated grape on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Remove the toothpick and repeat with the remaining grapes.
  10. Arrange the grapes in a single layer with space between them.
  11. Freeze for at least 1 hour, or until the grapes feel firm and icy.
  12. Serve directly from the freezer or let them soften for 2 to 3 minutes before eating.

Notes

  1. Use firm, seedless grapes for the best frozen texture.
  2. Keep each gelatin flavor in a separate bowl to prevent muddy colors.
  3. Replace clumpy gelatin powder with fresh powder as needed.
  4. Lemon or lime juice can replace the water for a stronger sour-candy flavor.
  5. Remove every toothpick before serving.
  6. Whole frozen grapes can pose a choking risk for young children. Cut grapes lengthwise into quarters when appropriate.
  7. Store leftovers in an airtight freezer container for up to 1 month.
