- 2 Granny Smith apples, cubed
- 1 cup water, plus 1 tablespoon divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 2 cups pretzels
- 25 caramel squares
Instructions
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Combine water and lemon juice in a bowl.
- Core and chop apples into cubes and place them in the lemon water.
- Melt 2 cups of chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth.
- Spread melted chocolate evenly over the prepared baking sheet.
- Press pretzels gently into the chocolate layer.
- Drain apples and pat completely dry with paper towels.
- Melt caramels with 1 teaspoon of water until smooth.
- Drizzle melted caramel over the pretzel layer.
- Add apples in a single layer and press gently into the bark.
- Melt remaining chocolate chips and drizzle over the top.
- Refrigerate until completely set, then cut and serve.
Notes
- This dessert is best served the same day it is made.
- Moisture from the apples may soften the pretzels and chocolate after one day.
