Description

This Caramel Apple Board is a festive DIY dessert platter that transforms fresh apple slices into a customizable fall treat. With caramel dip, chocolate, peanut butter, and a variety of toppings, guests can create their own sweet combinations. Perfect for parties, Halloween, Friendsgiving, or cozy nights in, it’s fun, interactive, and ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 apples, sliced (≈ 900 g)

  • 2–3 tbsp (30–45 ml) lemon juice or 1 cup (240 ml) lemon-lime soda (to prevent browning)

  • 1 container (300 g) caramel dip or salted caramel sauce

  • Optional dips: melted chocolate, peanut butter, or Nutella

  • Assorted toppings: chopped nuts, toffee bits, sprinkles, shredded coconut, mini M&Ms, crushed graham crackers, crushed Oreos, granola

Instructions

  1. Place toppings in small bowls and arrange on a large platter or wooden board.

  2. Slice apples into wedges. Toss with lemon juice or soak in lemon-lime soda for 10 minutes; drain and pat dry.

  3. Arrange apple slices around the toppings for easy access.

  4. Add bowls of caramel, chocolate, or peanut butter to the board.

  5. Provide skewers or lollipop sticks. Guests dip apple slices into caramel or chocolate, then roll in toppings.

Notes

Use crisp apple varieties like Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith.

For balance, include sweet and salty toppings (pretzels, peanuts).

Keep caramel warm with a small slow cooker or fondue pot.

For healthier options, add granola, dried fruit, or dark chocolate.

Pre-dip slices and drizzle with chocolate for a decorative presentation.
