Description
Soft, buttery pull-apart Christmas tree bread stuffed with mozzarella cheese and brushed with herbed butter.
Ingredients
3 cups bread flour
1 tsp instant yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp kosher salt
1 cup milk or water
2 tbsp butter (softened)
8½ oz mozzarella cheese, cubed
1 egg
1 tbsp water
¼ cup melted butter
1 tbsp each chopped basil, parsley, rosemary
½ cup grated Parmesan
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Warm marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
1. Mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add milk and butter, knead until smooth.
2. Let rise until doubled, about 1–1½ hours.
3. Cut mozzarella into cubes.
4. Divide dough into 20g balls, stuff with cheese, seal well.
5. Arrange in Christmas tree shape on a parchment-lined tray.
6. Proof 1 hour. Brush with egg wash.
7. Bake 20 minutes at 425°F until golden.
8. Brush with herb butter and sprinkle Parmesan and pepper flakes.
9. Serve warm with marinara.
Notes
Use a kitchen scale for best results.
Proofing time may vary by temperature.
Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat before serving.
