Description

Chicken Pillows feature a seasoned creamy chicken filling wrapped in flaky crescent dough, baked until golden, and topped with rich chicken gravy for a comforting family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 ounces cooked, shredded chicken breast (about 2 cups)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter, softened
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried chives
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup salted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1 can (10 ounces) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) chicken gravy mix
  • 3/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. Mix cream cheese and softened butter until smooth, then stir in shredded chicken, chives, onion, salt, and pepper.
  3. Press crescent triangles into four rectangles, sealing perforations.
  4. Divide chicken mixture evenly onto rectangles and fold corners over filling to form balls.
  5. Dip each pillow into melted butter, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Place on baking sheet and bake 22 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Whisk cream of chicken soup, gravy mix, and water in a saucepan, bring to a boil, then simmer until thickened.
  8. Serve warm chicken pillows topped with gravy.

Notes

  1. Seal crescent dough seams tightly to prevent filling from leaking.
  2. Do not overfill the dough to keep the pillows sealed.
  3. Use rotisserie chicken for added flavor.
  4. Reheat leftovers in the oven to maintain crisp texture.

Food safety: if you cook the chicken yourself, make sure it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), as recommended by the USDA and Health Canada.
