Description
Spicy Southern Cheesy Chicken Spaghetti Casserole made with tender chicken, creamy sauce, and melted cheddar baked into a hearty comfort food dish perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup bell peppers, chopped
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a large casserole dish.
- Cook the chicken over medium heat for about 6–7 minutes per side until fully cooked, then shred it.
- Boil salted water and cook the spaghetti until al dente, about 8–10 minutes, then drain.
- In a large bowl mix shredded chicken, cooked spaghetti, cream of chicken soup, chopped bell peppers, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and half the cheddar cheese.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared casserole dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes, garnish with green onions, and serve.
Notes
- Cook the spaghetti only until al dente to prevent a mushy casserole.
- Freshly shredded cheese melts smoother than pre-shredded cheese.
- Adjust the cayenne pepper if you prefer milder or spicier flavor.
