Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup red and green sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl
  3. Whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in buttermilk and vanilla
  5. Stir dry ingredients into wet until just combined
  6. Gently fold in sprinkles
  7. Pour batter into pan and smooth the top
  8. Bake 45–55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean
  9. Cool briefly, then transfer to a rack to cool completely

Notes

  1. Use jimmies instead of nonpareils to prevent color bleeding
  2. Do not overmix to keep the bread tender
