Ingredients
-
1 (462 g) can refrigerated biscuit dough
-
8 caramel candies
-
1 tbsp (14 g) butter
-
2 tbsp (28 g) melted butter
-
2 apples, finely chopped
-
2 tbsp (25 g) brown sugar
-
1 tsp (2.6 g) ground cinnamon
-
Pinch of salt
-
Cinnamon sugar (optional)
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a medium baking dish.
-
In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Sauté for 5 minutes until tender.
-
Open the biscuit dough and separate the pieces. Flatten each one slightly.
-
Spoon 1 tablespoon of apple mixture onto each piece of dough and top with a caramel candy.
-
Fold and pinch the dough around the filling to seal. Roll into balls and place seam-side down in the dish.
-
Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired.
-
Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
Notes
Chop apples finely for quick cooking.
Granny Smith apples offer a great tart balance.
Pairs well with vanilla ice cream or caramel drizzle.
Wet your fingers if the dough doesn’t seal well.
