Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar

  • ½ cup (100 g) white sugar

  • ¾ cup (180 ml) vegetable oil

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2½ cups (300 g) chopped apples, peeled and cored

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

  • In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  • In another bowl, mix eggs, oil, both sugars, and vanilla until smooth.

  • Gradually stir wet ingredients into dry just until combined.

  • Fold in chopped apples.

  • Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan.

  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

  • Cool before slicing into squares.

Notes

Use Honeycrisp or Fuji apples for sweet, crisp texture.

Avoid overmixing the batter to keep it tender.

Optional toppings include walnuts or cinnamon-sugar before baking.
