For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
-
2 tbsp butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
-
½ cup (50 g) Parmesan cheese, grated
-
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)

Salt & pepper, to taste

Fresh thyme, for garnish
For the Mashed Potatoes:
-
2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, peeled & cubed
-
½ cup (120 ml) warm milk
-
¼ cup (60 g) butter
-
Salt, to taste
Instructions
-
Prepare Mashed Potatoes: Boil potatoes in salted water for 15 minutes until fork-tender. Drain, mash with warm milk and butter, season with salt, and keep warm.
-
Cook Shrimp: Toss shrimp with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Sear in a hot skillet for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
-
Make Garlic Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Stir in cream, Parmesan, and Dijon (if using). Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
-
Assemble: Plate mashed potatoes, top with shrimp, and drizzle generously with garlic cream sauce. Garnish with thyme and serve hot.
Notes
Don’t overcook shrimp—they cook quickly and turn rubbery.
Use warm milk in mashed potatoes for creamier texture.
Dijon mustard adds tang but is optional.
Double the sauce if you want extra for pasta or rice.
Garnish with parsley or thyme for freshness.
