- 1 can tomato sauce, 15 ounces
- 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped

- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in a single layer in the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the chili powder, cumin, garlic salt, salt, and black pepper evenly over the chicken.
- Add the chopped cilantro, reserving a small amount for serving.
- Pour the tomato sauce over the chicken and spread it evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken reaches 165°F and shreds easily.
- Transfer the chicken to a bowl and shred it with two forks.
- Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker.
- Add the lime juice and stir the chicken into the sauce.
- Let the chicken rest in the warm sauce for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with the reserved cilantro and serve over rice or in tortillas.
