Description

Crockpot French Dip with tender shredded beef served on hoagie rolls with rich au jus for dipping, perfect for an easy comforting meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese optional
  • Fresh parsley optional

Instructions

  1. Pat the beef chuck roast dry and rub with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder
  2. Sear the beef on all sides in a skillet for 3 to 4 minutes per side until browned
  3. Transfer the beef to the Crockpot
  4. Mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce and pour over the beef
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours until tender
  6. Remove beef, rest for 5 minutes, then shred with forks
  7. Return shredded beef to juices and let soak briefly
  8. Slice rolls and melt cheese if desired
  9. Fill rolls with beef and serve with au jus

Notes

  1. Add sliced onions or bell peppers for extra flavor
  2. Store leftovers in refrigerator up to 3 days
  3. Reheat with broth to keep beef moist
