Description

This creamy Dill Pickle Dip combines softened cream cheese, crunchy dill pickles, sweet onion, pickle juice, and dried dill. Mix it in 10 minutes, chill for the fullest flavor, and serve it with pretzels, crackers, chips, or fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup finely chopped dill pickles
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped sweet onion
  • 3 tablespoons dill pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • Pretzel rods, crackers, chips, or fresh vegetables, for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl. Press and stir it with a wooden spoon until smooth and loose.
  2. Add the chopped dill pickles, sweet onion, pickle juice, dried dill, coarse salt, and black pepper.
  3. Stir firmly until all ingredients look evenly combined.
  4. Taste the dip and add a small splash of pickle juice if you prefer a thinner or tangier consistency.
  5. Cover the bowl tightly and refrigerate the dip for 1 hour for the fullest flavor.
  6. Let the dip stand at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
  7. Stir again, transfer the dip to a serving bowl, and garnish it with additional chopped pickles.
  8. Serve with pretzels, crackers, chips, fresh vegetables, or use it as a burger and sandwich spread.

Notes

  1. Soften the cream cheese completely before mixing to prevent lumps.
  2. Finely chop the pickles and onion for easier scooping.
  3. Add extra pickle juice gradually because pickle brine varies in saltiness and acidity.
  4. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  5. Do not freeze the dip because the cream cheese may develop a grainy texture.
  6. Nutrition values do not include pretzels, crackers, chips, vegetables, or other serving items.
