Description
Easy cinnamon apples are a simple, warm, and flavorful treat made by cooking apple slices with cinnamon and a sweetener. The apples become tender and caramelized, making them the perfect dessert, snack, or side dish. This easy-to-make recipe is a great way to enjoy a cozy, sweet treat in minutes.
Ingredients
-
3 large apples (Granny Smith, Fuji, or Honeycrisp are great options)
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
2 tablespoons brown sugar (or honey, maple syrup, or stevia for a healthier option)
-
1 tablespoon butter (optional, for richness)
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
-
1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, to balance sweetness)
-
1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, to thicken the sauce)
Instructions
-
Wash and peel the apples (optional). Core and slice them into ½-inch thick pieces.
-
In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
-
Add the apple slices, cinnamon, and sweetener. Stir to coat the apples evenly.
-
Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and golden.
-
If desired, thicken the sauce by stirring in cornstarch dissolved in a little cold water. Cook for another minute or two.
-
Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for later.
Notes
Adjust sweetness to your preference by using more or less sweetener.
Use firm apples like Granny Smith for a tart flavor or Honeycrisp for a sweeter taste.
You can skip butter for a dairy-free option or use plant-based butter.
