Description

Easy oven-baked French dip sandwiches made with roast beef, melty Havarti cheese, and served with warm au jus.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 hoagie rolls
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onions
  • 12 slices Havarti cheese
  • 1 pound sliced deli roast beef
  • 0.6 ounce packet dried au jus mix

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix butter with dried onions.
  3. Spread half of the butter mixture inside the rolls.
  4. Layer cheese, roast beef, and more cheese inside each roll.
  5. Place sandwiches in a baking dish.
  6. Melt remaining butter and brush over the tops.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 15–20 minutes.
  8. Prepare au jus according to package directions.
  9. Serve hot with au jus.

Notes

  1. Rare roast beef works best for flavor.
  2. Keep sandwiches covered while baking to prevent drying.
  3. Serve immediately for best texture.
