Ingredients

3 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces

2 teaspoons kosher salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 Tablespoon vegetable oil

1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

1 cup unsalted beef stock

1 ounce packet au jus gravy mix

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced
Instructions

Place steak in a large bowl, season with salt and pepper, and toss to combine.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high and brown the steak in batches.

Transfer seared steak to a slow cooker with onion and garlic.

Pour in beef stock, sprinkle au jus gravy mix, and layer butter on top.

Cover and cook on high for 3–4 hours or low for 6–8 hours. Stir occasionally.
