Ingredients
Scale
- 3 peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1 1/2-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup cane sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
- 5 cups cold water
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Fresh lemon slices, for serving
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, add the sliced peaches, sliced ginger, cane sugar, and 1 cup water.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium to medium-high heat.
- Once the mixture simmers, lower the heat to low and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Turn off the heat and let the peach mixture cool for a few minutes.
- Transfer the cooled peach mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Place a fine mesh strainer over a very large pitcher, then strain the blended peach syrup into the pitcher.
- Pour in the fresh lemon juice and 5 cups cold water.
- Stir until fully combined.
- Add a few ice cubes and fresh lemon slices to the pitcher right before serving.
- Serve cold and enjoy.
Notes
- Use ripe peaches for the sweetest, fullest flavor.
- For a stronger ginger flavor, let the ginger steep in the warm peach syrup for a few extra minutes before blending.
- Do not store the lemonade with ice for long periods because melted ice will dilute the drink.
- Stir well before serving if the lemonade has been refrigerated.
- For a sparkling version, replace 1 to 2 cups of cold water with sparkling water right before serving.
