Description

Healthy Orange Chicken made with fresh orange juice, tender chicken, and a lighter sticky sauce that tastes better than takeout.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, bite-size pieces
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1/3 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp chili garlic sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp orange zest
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp green onions

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with listed marinade ingredients for 10 minutes.
  2. Whisk all orange sauce ingredients in a bowl until smooth.
  3. Heat oil in skillet and cook chicken until golden and cooked through.
  4. Add sauce and simmer uncovered until thickened.
  5. Finish with sesame seeds and green onions.
