Description
Hobo Foil Packets are a hearty dinner made with ground beef, potatoes, carrots, and onions cooked together in sealed foil for a simple campfire or oven meal.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes diced
- 4 medium carrots sliced
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Aluminum foil
Instructions
- Preheat grill or oven to 400°F
- In a large bowl combine ground beef diced potatoes sliced carrots chopped onion olive oil garlic powder onion powder paprika salt and pepper
- Mix well until ingredients are evenly coated
- Cut four large sheets of aluminum foil about 12 inches long
- Divide the mixture evenly and place each portion in the center of a foil sheet
- Fold foil sides over mixture and seal tightly to form packets
- Place packets on grill or in oven
- Cook for 30 to 35 minutes until vegetables are tender and beef is fully cooked
- Carefully open packets and serve hot
Notes
- For a vegetarian option replace ground beef with black beans or lentils
- Add vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini for more flavor and texture
- Try barbecue sauce or Italian seasoning to vary the flavor
