Description
Homemade Gogurts are creamy fruit yogurt tubes made with plain yogurt and fruit. They take 5 minutes to blend, fill, and store for lunchboxes, after-school snacks, or freezer prep.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups plain yogurt, regular or Greek-style
- 1 cup fruit, such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peaches, cherries, blackberries, or mango
- Optional: 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup for older kids and adults, only if needed
- Optional: 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, sweet potato puree, carrot puree, or a small handful of spinach
Instructions
- Add the plain yogurt to a blender.
- Add the fruit of your choice.
- Blend until smooth, creamy, and evenly combined.
- Place a small funnel into a reusable yogurt tube or pouch.
- Carefully pour the yogurt mixture into each tube, leaving at least 1/2 inch of space at the top for expansion.
- Seal each tube tightly and wipe away any drips.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Pack a frozen yogurt tube in a lunchbox with an ice pack in the morning so it can thaw by lunch.
Notes
- Greek yogurt creates thicker Homemade Gogurts and makes filling the tubes easier.
- Thaw frozen fruit and drain off extra liquid before blending for the creamiest texture.
- Use nondairy yogurt if needed.
- Suggested fruits include peaches, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, cherries, mango, and avocado.
- Pumpkin puree, spinach, sweet potato puree, or carrot puree can be blended with fruit for a veggie boost.
- Do not overfill the tubes because the yogurt mixture expands in the freezer.
