Description

Super flavorful one-pan Honey Garlic Chicken and Green Beans coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, ready in about 35 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder or cornstarch
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 12 ounces green beans, trimmed
  • 0.25 cup green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds, optional garnish
  • 0.25 cup chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon grated ginger or 0.25 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons arrowroot powder or cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons water

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into 1-inch cubes and coat with arrowroot, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken 4 to 5 minutes until golden and 165°F internal temperature; remove and set aside.
  3. Add remaining olive oil and sauté green beans 6 minutes until tender-crisp with light char.
  4. Whisk chicken broth, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger in a bowl; mix arrowroot and water separately to form slurry.
  5. Return chicken to skillet, pour in sauce, add slurry, and stir to coat.
  6. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 2 to 3 minutes until sauce thickens and turns glossy.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds and serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  2. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of chicken broth or microwave at 50 percent power.
  3. Substitute shrimp, salmon, or tofu for chicken if desired.
  4. Swap green beans with broccoli, snap peas, or bell peppers.
  5. Prepare sauce up to 2 days ahead and refrigerate.
