Description

A sweet and salty Disney-inspired snack mix made with crunchy Honeycomb cereal, miniature pretzels, whole almonds, and a crisp brown sugar honey glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups Honeycomb cereal
  • 3 cups miniature pretzel twists
  • 3/4 cup whole almonds
  • 1/2 cup packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Nonstick cooking spray for the pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and coat it lightly with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Place the Honeycomb cereal, miniature pretzels, and whole almonds in a large heat-safe mixing bowl. Toss gently to distribute the ingredients.
  3. Add the brown sugar, dark corn syrup, and honey to a small saucepan.
  4. Heat the glaze over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until the brown sugar dissolves and the mixture looks smooth. Do not let it boil vigorously.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately pour the warm glaze over the cereal mixture.
  6. Fold gently until the cereal, pretzels, and almonds carry an even coating.
  7. Spread the coated mixture across the prepared baking sheet in one shallow layer.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway through if needed for even browning.
  9. Remove the tray from the oven and let the snack mix cool completely without stirring.
  10. Break the cooled mixture into bite-size clusters and serve or transfer it to an airtight container.

Notes

  1. For a nut-free version, replace the almonds with 3/4 cup additional cereal, pretzels, raisins, or another allergy-safe ingredient.
  2. Do not break apart the mixture until it has cooled completely because the glaze firms and becomes crisp as it cools.
  3. Add chocolate candies or dried fruit only after the baked snack mix has cooled.
  4. Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  5. Nutrition values are estimated per 1-cup serving.
