Description

Creamy Italian-style tomato pasta made with light cream, garlic, herbs, and melted cheese for a fast and comforting dinner.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 7 ounces dry pasta (penne, fusilli, or spaghetti)
  • 1/2 cup light cream (10% fat)
  • 3 ounces shredded cheese (mozzarella or mild Italian blend)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente, then drain.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant.
  4. Stir in tomato paste and cook for one minute.
  5. Lower heat, add cream, and stir until smooth.
  6. Season with basil, oregano, and salt, then simmer gently.
  7. Add cooked pasta and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Stir in shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  9. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Add grilled chicken, shrimp, or mushrooms for extra protein.
  2. Use Parmesan for sharper flavor, added off the heat.
  3. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to two days.
