Description
Japanese Hibachi-Style Zucchini is a quick vegetable side dish featuring zucchini and sweet onion sautéed with soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds.

- 3 medium zucchini
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 medium sweet onion, coarsely chopped
- 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Cut zucchini into 2-inch pieces and slice each piece into 6 wedges.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add zucchini and onion and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
- Cook 4 to 5 more minutes until vegetables reach desired tenderness.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
Notes
- Add 1 tablespoon butter at the end for richer flavor.
- Serve with steak, chicken, shrimp, or fried rice.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
