Description

Krispy Kreme Peach Cobbler is a warm, sweet dessert made with cinnamon peaches, glazed donuts, and a creamy custard-style soak. It is perfect for brunch, potlucks, holidays, or a fun family dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 to 8 peaches, sliced, or about 2 bags frozen peach slices
  • 2 dozen Krispy Kreme glazed donuts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, divided
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • Nonstick baking spray, as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and coat a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with nonstick baking spray.
  2. Add peaches, 1/2 cup brown sugar, butter, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and nutmeg to a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Cook the peach mixture for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring often, until the butter melts and the peaches release their juices.
  4. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then stir the slurry into the peach mixture.
  5. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring often, until the peach sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Whisk heavy whipping cream, evaporated milk, eggs, remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar, and remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  7. Add the cut donuts to the custard mixture and gently toss for about 5 minutes, just until the donuts soak up some custard.
  8. Spread the warm peach mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  9. Arrange the soaked donut pieces over the peaches, leaving behind most extra custard unless any donut pieces look dry.
  10. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top looks golden, the center feels set, and the peach filling bubbles around the edges.
  11. Let the cobbler rest for 10 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  1. Day-old glazed donuts work best because they absorb custard without falling apart.
  2. Do not pour all extra custard into the baking dish, or the cobbler may turn too soft.
  3. If using canned peaches, drain them well and reduce the brown sugar slightly.
  4. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce.
  5. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
