Description
Frozen Mangonada Popsicles inspired by a classic Mexican street treat. These popsicles combine sweet mango, fresh citrus juice, tangy chamoy, and a sprinkle of Tajín for a refreshing dessert with sweet, sour, and spicy flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh-squeezed orange juice (about 4 Valencia oranges)
- Juice of ½ medium lime
- 2½ cups frozen mango chunks
- ⅓ cup liquid chamoy
- Tajín to taste
Instructions
- Juice the oranges and half a lime
- Add orange juice, lime juice, and frozen mango chunks to a blender and blend until completely smooth
- Measure chamoy and pour a few teaspoons around the inside edges of each popsicle mold allowing it to drip down the sides
- Pour the mango mixture slowly into the center of each mold without disturbing the chamoy streaks
- Place the lid on the popsicle mold and insert popsicle sticks
- Freeze the popsicles for at least 8 hours or overnight until completely solid
- Run lukewarm water over the bottom of the mold to release the popsicles
- Sprinkle Tajín over the popsicles or dip the tips in Tajín before serving
Notes
- Use ripe mango for the sweetest flavor
- Blend the mango mixture until completely smooth for the best texture
- Do not add too much chamoy or the popsicles may taste overly salty
- Freeze overnight for firm popsicles and easy removal from molds
