2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 egg
-
1 tsp Italian seasoning
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat (7–8 min). Drain fat, stir in marinara, and simmer 10 min.
-
Cook lasagna noodles in salted water (8–10 min). Drain and lay flat.
-
Mix ricotta, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
-
Spread thin meat sauce layer in a 9×13″ baking dish. Layer: 3 noodles, half ricotta mixture, half mozzarella, one-third meat sauce.
-
Repeat layers with noodles, ricotta, mozzarella, meat sauce.
-
Top with remaining noodles, meat sauce, and Parmesan.
-
Cover with foil, bake 25 min. Remove foil, bake 15 min more until golden and bubbly.
-
Rest 10 min before slicing.
Notes
Resting helps slices hold their shape.
Use Italian sausage for extra flavor or mix it with beef.
Fresh basil on top adds aroma and color.
No-boil noodles work if the sauce is extra saucy.
Store leftovers up to 4 days refrigerated or 2 months frozen.
