Heart-shaped Mini Apple Pies made with puff pastry, warm spiced apple filling, and a sweet icing drizzle.

- 4 medium Granny Smith apples, diced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Puff pastry sheets, thawed
- All-purpose flour for dusting
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mix diced apples with lemon juice in a bowl.
- Add melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt, then stir well.
- Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface and cut heart shapes.
- Place half the hearts on a lined baking sheet.
- Fill centers with apple mixture, leaving a border.
- Brush borders with egg and top with remaining hearts.
- Crimp edges, cut slits on top, and brush with egg.
- Bake for 18 to 21 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool and drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar and milk.
Notes
- Do not overfill the pies.
- Keep puff pastry cold until baking.
- Add sprinkles after icing for decoration.
