Description
These Mini Fish Tank Jell-O Cups combine berry blue gelatin, colorful Nerds candy, and gummy fish in playful individual desserts that are perfect for ocean parties, summer cookouts, and kids’ celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 ounces berry blue gelatin mix
- Water required by the gelatin package directions
- 1 1/2 cups Nerds candy, about 13 ounces
- 12 gummy fish candies, such as Swedish Fish
Instructions
- Prepare the blue gelatin in a large bowl according to the package directions.
- Refrigerate the gelatin for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until it is almost set but still soft enough to stir.
- Stir the nearly set gelatin firmly with a spoon or spatula to break it into small pieces and create a bubbly water appearance.
- Return the gelatin to the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until it is fully chilled and set.
- Divide the Nerds candy evenly among six clear 9-ounce plastic cups.
- Spoon equal portions of the blue gelatin over the candy in each cup.
- Push one gummy fish into the center of each cup so it looks like it is swimming.
- Place a second gummy fish on top of the gelatin or against the side of each cup.
- Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
- Follow the gelatin package directions for the correct amount of water.
- Assemble the cups close to serving time for the crunchiest candy layer.
- Keep the finished cups refrigerated because gelatin softens in warm temperatures.
- Use clear plastic cups so the candy gravel, blue gelatin, and gummy fish remain visible.
- Store covered leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Do not freeze the gelatin cups.
