Description
Soft sandwich bread gets flattened, filled with buttery cinnamon sugar, rolled into bite-sized spirals, and finished with a quick powdered sugar glaze. These easy no-bake cinnamon rolls take only 10 minutes and make a fun kid-friendly snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices soft white sandwich bread, crusts removed
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar
- 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon water, plus additional drops as needed
Instructions
- Place the crustless bread slices on a clean cutting board and roll each slice until thin, flat, and slightly wider.
- Stir the confectioners’ sugar with 1/8 teaspoon water in a small bowl until a thin glaze forms. Add extra water one drop at a time only when needed.
- Spread 1 tablespoon softened butter evenly over each flattened bread slice.
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar evenly over each buttered slice.
- Starting at a short edge, roll each bread slice into a snug log without squeezing out the filling.
- Ask an adult to cut each log into 1-inch pieces with a small serrated knife.
- Arrange the pieces spiral-side up on a serving plate.
- Drizzle the powdered sugar glaze over the rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use fresh, flexible sandwich bread because stale bread may crack while rolling.
- Keep the butter soft but not melted so it does not soak through the bread.
- Add water to the glaze one drop at a time because it thins quickly.
- Adults should handle the serrated knife when children help prepare the recipe.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
