Description
Old School Peach Cobbler brings sweet sliced peaches, warm cinnamon, nutmeg, buttery batter, and a golden baked crust together in one cozy dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 28 oz sliced peaches, drained
- 1 cup Bisquick baking mix
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup white sugar
- Vanilla ice cream, optional for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the Bisquick, milk, nutmeg, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Pour the batter into an 8×8-inch baking dish, then mix in the melted butter.
- In a separate bowl, mix the drained sliced peaches with the white sugar.
- Spoon the sugared peaches evenly over the batter without fully stirring them in.
- Bake for 45 to 60 minutes, until the cobbler looks golden and bubbly.
- Let the cobbler rest for 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
Notes
- If you do not have Bisquick, combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 tablespoon melted unsalted butter or vegetable oil.
- Drain canned peaches well to prevent a watery cobbler.
- Start checking the cobbler at 45 minutes because oven temperatures vary.
