Description

Refreshing Peach Mousse Trifle with layers of fresh peach mousse, vanilla cake, whipped cream, and juicy peaches. Perfect for summer gatherings and special occasions.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small vanilla cake, baked and cooled
  • 4 fresh peaches
  • 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 4 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup for whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bake and cool the vanilla cake completely.
  2. Peel and cube 3 peaches.
  3. Blend peaches, lemon juice, and maple syrup until smooth.
  4. Slice the remaining peach and refrigerate.
  5. Bloom gelatin in cold water for 5 minutes.
  6. Heat gelatin briefly until liquid.
  7. Blend gelatin into peach puree.
  8. Chill puree for about 1 hour until slightly thickened.
  9. Whip cream to stiff peaks.
  10. Divide whipped cream into two bowls.
  11. Fold peach puree into one bowl to make mousse.
  12. Mix optional maple syrup into remaining whipped cream.
  13. Cut cake into cubes or rounds.
  14. Layer mousse, cake, whipped cream, and peaches in serving glasses.
  15. Repeat layers and chill for at least 3 hours before serving.

Notes

  1. Fresh peaches provide the best flavor.
  2. Frozen peaches may be used if thawed and drained.
  3. Recipe can be doubled for larger gatherings.
  4. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  5. Sweetened whipped cream is optional.
