Description

These Peach Pie Scones taste just like peach pie with buttery layers, juicy peaches, and a sweet vanilla glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream plus extra for brushing
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh peaches diced
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 to 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut cold butter into the flour mixture until coarse crumbs form.
  4. Whisk together egg, heavy cream, sour cream, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold diced peaches gently into the dough.
  7. Transfer dough to a floured surface and shape into a half-inch thick disk.
  8. Slice dough into 6 to 8 wedges and place on prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush tops lightly with heavy cream.
  10. Bake for 16 to 18 minutes until lightly golden brown.
  11. Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream together for the glaze.
  12. Drizzle glaze over warm scones before serving.

Notes

  1. Keep butter cold for flaky scones.
  2. Do not overmix the dough.
  3. Fresh peaches provide the best flavor.
  4. Chill dough briefly before baking for taller scones.
