Description
A fresh Peach Slush Recipe made with ripe peaches, cold water, and lime juice for an easy icy summer drink.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups peeled and chopped fresh peaches, or frozen peach slices
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup, optional
- 1 cup ice, optional for a thicker slush
- Fresh peach slices or lime wedges, optional for serving
Instructions
- Choose ripe peaches that smell sweet and feel slightly soft near the stem.
- Peel the peaches with a paring knife, or pour boiling water over them for 30 seconds and slip off the skins.
- Chop the peaches into chunks.
- Add peaches, cold water, and fresh lime juice to a blender or food processor.
- Blend until smooth and thick.
- Taste and add honey or maple syrup only if the peaches need more sweetness.
- Add ice for a thicker slush, then blend again until frosty.
- Pour the mixture into a 9-by-13-inch pan.
- Freeze for 1 to 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes with a fork.
- Fluff the slush with a fork and serve immediately in chilled glasses or bowls.
Notes
- Use ripe peaches for the sweetest flavor.
- Frozen peaches work well when fresh peaches are out of season.
- Stir the mixture during freezing so it does not turn into one solid block.
- Let leftovers soften for 10 to 15 minutes before scraping and serving again.
