Description
A simple cheesy pizza pasta bake made with penne, marinara sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella. This family friendly casserole tastes like pizza and works perfectly for an easy weeknight dinner.

- 1 pound uncooked penne pasta
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 10 ounces sliced pepperoni divided
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and place rack in the top third of the oven
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook penne two minutes less than package directions
- Drain pasta and return it to the pot
- Stir in marinara sauce and about one third of the pepperoni
- Transfer mixture to a 9×13 baking dish and spread evenly
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese
- Add remaining pepperoni slices over the cheese
- Bake uncovered for 20 minutes until cheese melts
- Broil for a few minutes until pepperoni crisps and cheese browns slightly
Notes
- Recipe serves 6 to 8 people
- Three cups equals one 24 ounce jar of marinara sauce
- You can add an extra half to one cup of sauce if you prefer a saucier casserole
- Pepperoni packages vary so slightly more or less than 10 ounces works fine
