Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare two 8-inch cake pans
- Mix eggs, oil, buttermilk, vinegar, butter, vanilla, and food coloring
- Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda
- Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until smooth
- Divide batter evenly into pans
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until done
- Cool cakes in pans then transfer to rack
- Chill layers before frosting
- Beat butter until smooth then add cream cheese
- Mix in powdered sugar gradually
- Add vanilla and salt and mix until smooth
- Frost and assemble cake layers
