Description

A quick and delicious recipe that combines savory Salisbury steak meatballs with creamy garlic herb mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, dried parsley, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, roughly 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes or until cooked through.
  4. While the meatballs bake, boil the potatoes until tender, about 15–20 minutes.
  5. Drain the potatoes, then mash with garlic, butter, milk, and parsley.
  6. In a frying pan, cook flour for 1 minute, then whisk in beef broth, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Simmer until thickened.
  7. Add meatballs to gravy and coat well.
  8. Serve with garlic herb mashed potatoes.

Notes

  1. You can sauté onion and garlic before adding them to the mixture.
  2. Ground turkey or chicken can be used instead of beef.
  3. Leftovers can be stored up to 3 days and reheated before serving.
